Best Practices

  • Use consistent patterns

Within a genogram, use the same pattern/color for the same heritage to maintain clarity.

  • Create a legend

When presenting, explain what each pattern/color represents in your genogram.

  • Focus on relevant views

For therapy sessions, you might focus on Emotional and Medical views. For genealogy, Cultural and Location views.

  • Export in different views

Export your genogram in multiple view modes to create comprehensive documentation.
